Creation, Conservation and Christ

 

In 2020, we focused as a church on a Christian response to the evolution crisis. Many of our events had to be cancelled, but we were able to hold our Lent and Advent lecture series. This year we are continuing to reflect and engage with climate change and hope to work towards becoming an Eco Church.  Do be in touch with us if you would like to get involved in this!

Julian Allwood, from the University of Cambridge, spoke about the measures we need to take to reach the UK's target of zero carbon emmisssions. Will Simonson, Head of Research at the Organic Research Centre, talked on the food industry. David Thomas reflected on "Good news stories about conservation" from his work as Programme Manager for the Endangered Landscapes Programme Cambridge Conservation Initiative. FInally, Tim Gordon, Coral reef biologist at the University of Exeter spoke on  "Faith and hope in an age of Climate Despair".
