Ideas for Lent

  • Here are a number of options to help you with some active or reflective ideas during the period of Lent.

Lent Thursday Group - 8pm 
  • Join us this Lent for a special 5 week Lent course this (22nd Feb) and every Thursday at 8 entitled ‘Alive in Christ’ ( 22 and 29 February, 7, 14, 21 March).

  • We will be thinking and reflecting on the nature of God’s love and grace for us and how that helps us offer love and grace to others.  

  • Various venues… email Olivia for details and everyone welcome to join us for one or all the session this Lent.

Ideas to do during Lent
​
  • Here are some different ideas to do during Lent… If the idea of one a day is too much why not pick one or two things to take up or do this Lent?

  • 40 ideas for keeping a holy Lent (adapted from Nadia Bolz Weber)

  • Day 1: Pray for your enemies

  • Day 2: Walk, car share, bike or use the bus instead of your car.

  • Day 3: Don’t turn on the radio

  • Day 4: Give £20 to a charity of your choosing

  • Day 5: Take 5 minutes of silence at noon

  • Day 6: Look out the window until you find something of beauty you had not noticed before

  • Day 7: Give 5 items of clothing to a local Charity shop

  • Day 8: Try not to criticise anyone all day

  • Day 9: Do a good turn for someone

  • Day 10: Buy a few £5 coffee cards to give out to homeless people you encounter

  • Day 12: Pray through the Papers (pray for people and situations in today’s news)
